Job Overview:
The Associate Systems Engineer (Sitecore Architect) position within the IMF's IT Department (ITD) is a contractual role focused on the architectural leadership of the IMF.org public website platform. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Section Chief or a designated senior technical lead, providing expertise in Sitecore XM Cloud, Sitecore AI capabilities, and Azure-native services. The role requires translating institutional requirements into scalable and secure cloud-first architecture while ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards. The position emphasizes collaboration with Agile teams and business stakeholders, necessitating a strong understanding of both technical and business aspects of the IMF's digital platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Platform Architecture & Roadmapping: Provide subject matter expertise on Sitecore XM Cloud, Sitecore AI, headless architectures, and Vercel-based delivery; define technical roadmaps, reference architectures, and standards aligned with IMF governance.
  • Solution Design, Delivery Enablement & Estimation: Translate business and institutional requirements into secure, scalable architectures; support Agile teams with technical scoping, estimation, sprint planning, and delivery coordination across vendors.
  • Integration Architecture: Design and validate integration architectures with internal enterprise platforms and external services; ensure integration reliability, data integrity, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Security, Risk & Accreditation: Ensure solutions comply with IMF information security policies and accreditation requirements; coordinate vulnerability assessment and remediation activities and provide guidance on secure design and risk mitigation.
  • DevSecOps, Configuration & Release Governance: Enforce strong configuration management, version control, and release practices within Azure DevOps (ADO) and CI/CD pipelines, including automation and security scanning integration.
  • Documentation & Technical Communication: Produce and review high-quality architecture and design documentation; advise leadership on platform strategy, risks, and modernization decisions; communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders on constraints and options.
  • Cross-ITD Collaboration & Dependency Management: Coordinate across infrastructure, security, operations, and other platform teams to manage dependencies and ensure end-to-end alignment and delivery readiness.

Required Qualifications:
  • An advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline; or a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong hands-on Sitecore platform architecture and development experience, with .NET ecosystem (including ASP.NET MVC) and headless architectures.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Sitecore XM Cloud and composable DXP patterns.
  • Experience with Sitecore AI features including personalization, experimentation, analytics, and content intelligence.
  • Strong experience with modern front-end hosting and delivery platforms including Vercel, supporting headless and Jamstack-based architectures.
  • Proficiency with modern front-end technologies including Next.js, React, TypeScript, CSS/SCSS, and front-end build/compilation toolchains integrated with Sitecore XM Cloud.
  • Experience architecting and supporting large-scale, high-volume Sitecore implementations with complex multisite, multilingual, and high-concurrency requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise search solutions, including Coveo and/or equivalent search platforms (e.g., Azure Search, Sitecore Search), encompassing index design, relevance tuning, and search-driven content delivery.
  • Experience designing and governing end-to-end integration architecture for Sitecore platforms, including reliability, data integrity, monitoring, and lifecycle management. 1
  • Strong Azure cloud architecture experience including App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure AD, monitoring and security services; plus demonstrated expertise with Azure API Management (APIM). 1
  • DevSecOps expertise, including CI/CD pipeline design and management within Azure DevOps (ADO), infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, security scanning integration, and release management automation. 1
  • Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns including microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-led integration. 1
  • Project management skills including estimation, technical scoping, sprint planning support, and cross-vendor coordination. 1
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and experience collaborating with InfoSec professionals on secure solution design, accreditation processes, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation. 1
  • Experience working effectively within Agile / Scrum delivery models. 1
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Background:
