The Security Associate will also be responsible for training personnel on security awareness and preparedness, thereby enhancing the overall security culture within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and guidance in assessing the security situation in the Security Risk Management (SRM) Area East; coordinate and conduct periodic security assessments of UN Women premises and equipment, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Liaise with local security organizations, including government security personnel, military, police, and NGOs, to maintain a robust security network and participate in area security cell meetings.
Collect, update, and communicate security information, ensuring timely dissemination of security announcements and conducting briefing sessions for UN Women personnel.
Implement the UN Women Security Plan, providing inputs for its preparation and review, and offering security advice for missions and travel.
Monitor and support the implementation of UN Women compliance with Security Risk Management Measures (SRMM), compiling data for assessments and maintaining a database of security compliance.
Report security incidents affecting UN Women personnel and assets, providing updates and tracking incidents as required.
Coordinate and conduct training courses on security awareness and preparedness, ensuring new personnel receive necessary security briefings.
Provide administrative support to the security team's budget and finances, monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with budgetary limits.
Maintain routine correspondence files and databases related to host country security authorities and UN Women personnel.
Required Qualifications: Completion of secondary education is required, with a Bachelor’s degree considered an asset. Candidates must possess excellent knowledge of security and risk management, as well as the local security situation and laws. The ability to provide sound advice, work under pressure, and possess good analytical skills is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
