Job Overview: The Rehabilitation Technical Officer plays a crucial role in implementing Humanity & Inclusion's mandate and 10-year strategy, particularly in the context of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise and ensuring the quality and impact of rehabilitation projects. The officer will work closely with project managers and the technical team to support the national rehabilitation officer and physical therapists in achieving their technical activities effectively. The role involves guiding and advising on rehabilitation practices, ensuring adherence to internal quality standards, and adapting project documentation to align with global rehabilitation norms. The officer will also contribute to the capacity development of national staff, focusing on trauma-informed care, and will be involved in technical learning and the animation of the rehabilitation sector.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Rehabilitation Technical Officer has several key responsibilities, including:
Providing guidance and technical support to projects in accordance with rehabilitation sector standards, including specialized occupational therapy guidance for acute trauma cases.
Supporting local partners in identifying trauma-related cases and ensuring project activities meet internal quality standards.
Collecting data for reporting and analysis, contributing to the technical learning of projects, and implementing recommendations for improving rehabilitation components.
Designing and delivering trauma-specific occupational therapy training and assisting in the professional development of rehabilitation staff.
Contributing to the influence of HI's technical expertise within local networks and strengthening referral pathways into existing rehabilitation services.
Engaging in advocacy efforts related to rehabilitation services and ensuring that the needs of vulnerable populations are addressed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in Occupational Therapy and have at least three years of clinical experience, particularly in emergency humanitarian settings. Experience with acute traumas, polytraumas, and complex injuries rehabilitation is essential. Strong communication skills, openness to collaboration, and effective teamwork are critical. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, as well as experience in a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation.
Educational Background: A degree in Occupational Therapy is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding rehabilitation practices and the specific needs of individuals with disabilities and trauma-related conditions.

The contract duration is six months, renewable upon funding. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be collectively arranged by Humanity & Inclusion. The international contract includes various benefits such as unemployment insurance for EU nationals, a pension scheme, medical coverage, repatriation insurance, and a gross monthly salary starting from €2346, along with additional allowances for per diem and hardship. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year and a rest and recuperation period every eight weeks.
