Job Overview:
The Field Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the field base in Dnipro, Ukraine. This role involves working under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and closely coordinating with various support coordinators. The Field Coordinator is tasked with implementing the global strategy for the area of intervention, ensuring the quality of financial, HR, and logistic procedures. Additionally, the Field Coordinator represents SI in local forums and coordination groups, manages a team of logistics and administration managers, and oversees security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security management and context analysis in the operational area. The position is crucial for navigating the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict and ensuring effective aid delivery while maintaining team morale and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall operations of the field base, ensuring effective coordination among departments.
  • Supervise and support the logistics and administration teams, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Develop and implement strategies for financial management, human resources, and logistics in line with SI policies.
  • Represent SI in local coordination meetings and forums, fostering partnerships and collaboration with other organizations.
  • Conduct security assessments and manage security protocols to ensure the safety of staff and operations.
  • Address HR challenges, including the impact of conscription and mental health issues among team members.
  • Collaborate with other field coordinators for fundraising and identifying new opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of well-being and support for staff in a high-stress environment. 1
  • Adapt to changing security conditions and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in a humanitarian field or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating leadership and management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in field coordination and HR management, particularly in volatile environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant humanitarian field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the challenges faced in crisis situations.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar field coordination role. This experience is crucial for managing the diverse responsibilities associated with the position and for navigating the challenges of working in a conflict-affected area.

Languages:
Fluency in English at a minimum C1 level is mandatory. Knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian is considered a plus, as it enhances communication with local communities and stakeholders.

  • The role is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, and involves working in a challenging security environment. The salary starts from EUR 3,080 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with accommodation and travel expenses covered by SI. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare and other essential services. The living conditions include fully equipped accommodations in Dnipro city center, with access to various amenities despite the ongoing security risks.
