SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that has been operational for over 40 years. The organization is dedicated to providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters, focusing on meeting their basic needs for food, water, and shelter. SI is particularly committed to combating diseases linked to unsafe water, which is a leading cause of death globally. The organization operates in 26 countries and employs around 3,200 individuals, including expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters, and a few volunteers. Job Overview:
The position oversees the CDCS/AFD funded project, ensuring global coordination between SI, associated partners, and key stakeholders. The role involves providing a vision and developing an implementation strategy for the project, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality standards. Compliance with donor rules and regulations is essential, as is external representation. The main challenges include ensuring coherence across project components to maximize relevance and impact, managing internal coordination among multi-base projects and teams working under an emergency lens, and adhering to specific AFD procedures. In the initial months, the focus will be on monitoring preliminary studies prior to construction, launching complementary activities based on results, and facilitating information flow among all stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include overseeing the project funded by CDCS/AFD, ensuring effective coordination among SI, partners, and stakeholders. The role requires developing and implementing a project strategy that aligns with SI's objectives, monitoring project progress to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with quality standards. The position also involves external representation, managing relationships with donors, and ensuring that all project activities are compliant with donor regulations. Additionally, the role requires addressing challenges related to project coherence, internal coordination, and adherence to AFD procedures. The first few months will focus on monitoring preliminary studies, launching complementary activities, and facilitating communication among stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Experience in a similar position is preferred, with 0-2 years being acceptable. Technical skills in project management cycles, experience working with local actors, and WASH technical skills are considered strong assets. Transversal skills such as development project management, coordination, external representation, and writing/reporting skills are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, which provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective project management and coordination in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for those who have held similar roles for 0-2 years. This experience should demonstrate a solid understanding of project management and coordination in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is necessary for communication with French donors. Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local stakeholders and communities.

  • The role is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, and offers a salary starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of EUR 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of breaks during the assignment, allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Dnipro are favorable, with access to amenities such as parks, restaurants, and supermarkets, and the office is conveniently located within walking distance of guesthouses.
