Job Overview:
The Consortium Coordinator will work under the Deputy Country Director – Program and will be responsible for providing overall vision, leadership, and guidance for two major projects: the Emergency Response Mechanism (ERM) and the BHA Consortium. This role involves close collaboration with program and support departments, serving as the key liaison with consortium partners and stakeholders. The Coordinator will ensure adherence to project objectives, performance requirements, and donor regulations while facilitating collaborative partnerships among consortium members. The position requires strategic planning, coordination, representation, and effective communication both internally and externally. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic planning and leadership for the ERM and BHA Consortium projects.
  • Coordinate and represent the consortium in high-level forums and meetings with donors and partner organizations.
  • Oversee project delivery and implementation, ensuring compliance with objectives and donor regulations.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication among consortium members and stakeholders.
  • Lead the structuring of the Consortium Management Unit and develop monitoring tools for program activities.
  • Address challenges related to leading two different projects with various partners and sectors.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication among diverse partners to achieve common goals.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance and make necessary adjustments to strategies and activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven high representation skills with the ability to effectively engage with senior leadership and donors.
  • Strong project and financial management skills, with experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coordination experience in similar roles, with the ability to communicate a shared vision among partners.
  • Proficiency in preparing high-quality documentation, including reports and proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate dialogue and collaboration.
  • Knowledge and experience in sectors such as Emergency Response Mechanism, WASH, Protection, Health, Nutrition, and Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL).

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in International Development, Social or Human Sciences, Project Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of humanitarian work and project management in challenging environments.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in similar positions. This experience is crucial for understanding the dynamics of humanitarian aid and the specific challenges faced in conflict-affected areas.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication with local partners and stakeholders in the region.

  • The role is based in N'Djamena, Chad, where living conditions are generally good, with limited security constraints. The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3080, a monthly per diem of USD 750, accommodation costs, and travel expenses covered by SI. Additionally, expatriates receive an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. The position also includes a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
