Job Overview:
As the Deputy logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager - Supply Chain, you will report to the Country Logistics Manager and be responsible for implementing the supply chain strategy for the Chad mission. Your role will involve ensuring the management of supplies within your scope and overseeing the deployment of HI's logistics standards. You will actively participate in the progressive structuring of the Western Chad mission while adhering to HI's organizational principles, particularly focusing on enhancing the skills of the logistics team. You may also temporarily assume the responsibilities of the Country Logistics Manager when required. Your position will require you to represent HI externally on supply chain matters in Chad, including participation in forums and strategic alliances, and developing necessary local partnerships to advance your area of activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include leading the supply chain strategy and operations by actively promoting HI's policies and institutional guidelines while optimizing resources. You will contribute to the writing, revision, and implementation of the operational strategy in your areas of activity and geographical zones in line with objectives. You will produce and update risk maps covering your area of responsibility and propose and implement corrective measures. Additionally, you will contribute to and monitor incident reports, produce, compile, and analyze data for the logistics dashboard in your geographical area. You will animate the supply chain profession in your geographical area and contribute to the global organization’s supply chain development. This includes developing a pool of local talents, conducting technical interviews, and identifying training needs. You will ensure compliance with HI's standards across your professional domain, adapting and contextualizing these standards to local regulations and donor specifications. You will also establish and supervise internal controls, ensuring compliance with internal rules and donor regulations, and participate in preparing logistical reports for project donors. Furthermore, you will conduct operational supply chain implementation, including regulatory requirement identification, logistical context analysis, resource planning, and procurement strategy definition. You will also provide adequate logistical support for emergency responses, contributing to the analysis of program capabilities and preparing for emergencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a buyer/supplier or as a Logistics Manager in international NGOs. Experience in capacity building, training, and coaching is essential. Familiarity with the ERP LINK system is required, along with autonomy in managing humanitarian purchases and a thorough understanding of procedures. Candidates should possess strong stock and contract management skills, excellent writing abilities for reports, and the capacity to analyze and propose mitigation measures or operational procurement strategies. Proficiency in computer tools and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet) is necessary, along with a good knowledge of PowerBi.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Candidates should possess a degree or equivalent qualification that demonstrates their understanding of logistics principles and practices, particularly in humanitarian contexts.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in logistics and supply chain management, particularly within the humanitarian sector. A proven track record of working in challenging environments and managing logistics operations effectively is crucial. Experience in training and developing local teams is also highly valued.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, given the operational context in Chad. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is a 6-month international contract starting in February 2026, based in N'Djamena. The international contract offers social coverage tailored to individual needs, including unemployment insurance for EU nationals, retirement insurance, and health coverage. The salary starts at €2,450 gross per month, depending on professional experience, with additional benefits such as a net monthly per diem of €817, a hardship allowance of €250 net per month, and 25 days of paid leave per year. The position is unaccompanied, with collective accommodation provided by HI. If you are a resident in the country, a local package will apply.
