Job Overview:
The Consortium Coordinator will work under the Deputy Country Director – Program and is responsible for providing overall vision, leadership, and guidance for two significant projects: the Emergency Response Mechanism (ERM) and the BHA Consortium. This role involves close collaboration with program and support departments, serving as the primary liaison with consortium partners and stakeholders. The Coordinator will ensure that all project objectives, performance requirements, and donor regulations are met while fostering collaborative partnerships among consortium members. The position requires strategic planning, coordination, representation, project delivery, and effective internal and external communication. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic planning and implementation of the ERM and BHA Consortium projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor expectations.
  • Coordinate and represent the consortium in high-level forums, engaging with donors, country directors, and senior leadership from partner organizations.
  • Oversee project delivery and implementation, ensuring that all activities are executed effectively and efficiently.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication among consortium members and stakeholders to promote collaboration and information sharing.
  • Structure program activities monitoring, including the development and harmonization of tools across consortium partners.
  • Address challenges related to leading two different projects involving various partners and sectors.
  • Support the establishment and structuring of the Consortium Management Unit during the initial months of the role.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and proposals to communicate project progress and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven high representation skills with the ability to effectively represent the consortium in high-level discussions.
  • Strong project and financial management skills, with experience in monitoring project performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coordination experience, with the ability to communicate a common vision among diverse partners.
  • Proficiency in preparing high-quality reports and proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate dialogue among consortium members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge or experience in sectors such as ERM/RRM, WASH, Protection, Health, Nutrition, and FSL is essential.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in International Development, Social or Human Sciences, Project Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and project management.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in similar positions. This experience is vital for navigating the challenges of leading consortium projects and managing diverse partnerships effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French or Arabic is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication with local partners and stakeholders.

  • The role is based in N'Djamena, Chad, where living conditions are reported to be good, with limited security constraints. The compensation package includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3080, a monthly per diem of USD 750, and coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. Additionally, expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. The organization also implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
