Job Overview:
The Project Engineer position involves working under the direct supervision of the Juba Field Engineer within the Engineering Section of UNMISS. The role is crucial for the design, construction, and repair of various infrastructure projects, including buildings, roads, and other essential facilities. The engineer will be responsible for applying engineering calculations and practices to complete portions of larger projects, producing CAD drawings, preparing bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and technical specifications. The position also requires frequent site visits to monitor project activities, conduct technical evaluations of bids, and liaise with other engineers and mission specialists to ensure effective project management. The engineer will play a vital role in ensuring that projects are technically feasible and that objectives are met within the prescribed resources, while also maintaining accurate project records and files.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Engineer include:

• Applying engineering calculations and practices to complete portions of larger projects related to the design, construction, or repair of various structures.
• Producing CAD drawings for planning and design specifications.
• Preparing BOQ, cost estimates, drawings, Statement of Works (SOW), technical specifications, and bidding documents for engineering projects.
• Conducting frequent site visits to monitor project activities and provide technical advice.
• Conducting technical evaluations of bids and preparing evaluation reports.
• Developing technical data regarding materials, sizes, dimensions, and costs for formal specifications.
• Preparing cost estimates for repairs of damaged buildings and facilities.
• Liaising with other engineers and mission specialists to resolve technical issues.
• Conducting investigations to improve designs and construction techniques. 1
• Analyzing project proposals for technical feasibility. 1
• Identifying routine engineering operational requirements and implementing methods to optimize resource utilization. 1

Required Qualifications:
