Job Overview: The Data Architect position within WHO's Health Emergencies Programme focuses on developing and implementing data solutions that support the organization's mission to manage health emergency risks. Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform a variety of duties, including collaborating with stakeholders to identify data needs, designing and implementing data solutions, analyzing data storage and retrieval processes, and developing algorithms for data mapping and transformation. Responsibilities also include creating data models, ensuring data consistency and accuracy, monitoring data management systems, advising on best practices in data management, and staying updated with the latest developments in data technologies. The role may require performing additional related duties as assigned, including backstopping for team members when necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced level university degree (Masters or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with certifications in data modeling, architecture, and analytics. Desirable qualifications include certifications in project management, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies. The role requires strong skills in data integration techniques, knowledge of data governance policies, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C. Excellent communication and project management skills are also essential.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in a relevant field such as Information Technology or Computer Science is essential for this position. Additionally, candidates should have certifications related to data management and analytics, which demonstrate their expertise in the field. Desirable certifications may include those in project management and cloud technologies, which can further enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in a data architect or similar role.
