Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on monitoring and evaluation within the framework of the global initiative 'Good Employment for Socially Just Change'. The intern will gain comprehensive insights into the structures of this initiative and the daily operations of the global project. The role is designed to provide first-hand experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in the context of employment promotion. Interns will work closely with colleagues on coherent impact assessment and reporting, as well as maintaining the central monitoring and information system of the initiative. This position is ideal for individuals looking to contribute to meaningful projects while developing their professional skills in a supportive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will be involved in various tasks including: supporting data querying, maintenance, and aggregation; conducting plausibility checks on key indicators of the initiative; contributing to the impact-oriented monitoring of the global project, particularly in conceptual refinement, impact measurement, data analysis, and reporting; assisting in the application and conceptual development of the digital monitoring tool of the initiative; advising stakeholders on capturing employment effects; supporting evidence-based consulting to the BMZ department of the initiative, especially in ensuring the quality of data submissions; and potentially participating in business trips to the GIZ location in Eschborn or workshops across Germany.

Required Qualifications:
To apply for this internship, candidates must have completed at least five semesters of study in economics, social sciences, political science, IT, or a related field. Strong skills in data processing programs (e.g., Excel) and data analysis are essential. Candidates should possess good analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork abilities, and a solution-oriented approach, even in time-critical situations. Proficiency in German at a minimum of C1 level and English at a minimum of B2 level is required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a degree program or in a training program that includes an internship as an integral part. Alternatively, applicants who have graduated within the last six months are also eligible to apply. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to economics, social sciences, political science, or IT, with a focus on data processing and analysis.

Experience:
While prior experience in development cooperation or regional experience in Africa is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with impact measurement, employment promotion, economic policy, and social security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security is also beneficial. Experience in maintaining IT-based information systems will be considered a plus.

Languages:
Proficiency in German is mandatory, with a minimum level of C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. English proficiency is also required at a minimum level of B
  • Knowledge of French at a minimum level of B2 is considered an asset but is not required.
