Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Global Project 'Strategic Environmental Dialogues' (SUD), which is commissioned by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). The project aims to facilitate dialogue and exchange formats with political decision-makers and key stakeholders from business, science, and civil society in emerging and developing countries. The intern will have the opportunity to gain insights into the work in Brazil and India, assist in organizing physical and virtual events, manage political networks, and contribute to discussions in international environmental policy. The role is designed to provide practical experience in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Agreement, focusing on sustainable development and environmental protection.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will include supporting the project in various tasks, particularly in the context of Brazil and India. Specific duties will involve:
Assisting in providing consulting services in areas such as circular economy, natural climate protection, biodiversity conservation, and chemical management in selected focus countries.
Conducting research and analysis related to inclusive green economies and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Climate Agreement.
Supporting the organization, execution, and follow-up of national and international dialogue formats and conferences, primarily focused on Brazil and India, as well as training and capacity-building measures.
Assisting in the preparation of discussion materials, commentaries, concept papers, status reports, speaking points, and communication materials.
Performing general organizational tasks, such as writing meeting notes and summarizing conferences.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have successfully completed a degree in political science, economics, environmental sciences, or other relevant fields related to international environmental or development policy. A solid overview knowledge of international environmental policy and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development at both international and national levels is essential. Practical experience in international cooperation and event organization is also required. Candidates should be reliable, resilient, able to work independently, conscientious, and results-oriented, with the ability to quickly familiarize themselves with new topics. A proactive approach to teamwork is essential.
Educational Background: The position requires a completed degree in a relevant field such as political science, economics, or environmental sciences, with a focus on international environmental or development policy. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a study program that includes an internship as an integral part or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: Candidates should have some practical experience in international cooperation and event organization. This experience can be gained through previous internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to the field of international environmental policy.
Languages: Fluency in German and very good English skills are mandatory. Additional language skills, particularly in Portuguese, are desirable but not required. Strong communication skills in both written and spoken forms are essential for this position.

The monthly stipend for interns is €2,205.04 (gross).
