Job Overview: The Communications Analyst position at UN Women in Kyiv is pivotal in enhancing the organization's visibility and advocacy efforts. Reporting to the Advocacy and Communications Analyst, the incumbent will assist in the planning and implementation of communication and advocacy strategies aimed at increasing UN Women's standing and awareness among partners, the media, and the public. The position also involves monitoring and analyzing media coverage, supporting the launch of corporate and national campaigns, and coordinating media relations to effectively disseminate information about UN Women’s initiatives and priorities in Ukraine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide substantive support to the planning and design of external communication and outreach/advocacy strategies and plans, ensuring the integration of gender perspectives.
Develop and disseminate advocacy materials, including drafting press releases and briefing materials, and coordinating their distribution through various channels.
Coordinate media relations by establishing and maintaining relationships with national and international media, responding to inquiries, and organizing press events.
Build and maintain partnerships with donors and advocacy partners, ensuring effective communication and visibility of UN Women’s initiatives.
Manage the CO's online presence, including website content and social media accounts, ensuring alignment with corporate policies.
Facilitate knowledge sharing by identifying best practices and organizing training sessions on communication and advocacy.
Support results-based reporting for UN Women CO initiatives.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism, or a relevant field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. The role requires at least one year of professional work experience in public relations, communications, or advocacy at the national or international level. Proficiency in social media usage and familiarity with office software packages (such as MS Word and Excel) are essential. Experience with web-based management systems is also required, while knowledge of modern ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
