Job Overview:
The Driver position is crucial for supporting the transportation operations within the NRC. This role involves not only driving but also managing and administering the vehicle to ensure safe and efficient transport for NRC staff and other official movements as assigned by the fleet management team. The Driver is expected to adhere to NRC policies and guidelines while promoting safety and security during all transportation activities. The position requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and reporting any issues that may arise, ensuring that all trips are logged accurately and that the vehicle is always in optimal condition for use.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: adhering to NRC policies, preparing status reports as required, promoting ideas for improvement, and performing according to the work and development plan. Specific duties include transporting NRC staff, visitors, documents, and goods to designated destinations, ensuring the safety and security of passengers and cargo, reporting accidents or breakdowns immediately, and maintaining compliance with local traffic regulations. The Driver must also maintain a logbook for all trips, cover daily responsibilities as per the duty roster, keep the vehicle clean and fueled, check the technical state of the vehicle, arrange for repairs and servicing in coordination with the line manager, and provide logistical support during trainings and workshops. Additionally, the Driver will liaise with field logistics and program staff to ensure smooth operations and assist in loading and off-loading materials as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Tawjihi or equivalent qualification and have at least 5 years of relevant experience in driving within a humanitarian or recovery context. A valid driving license (category 3) for manual gear vehicles is mandatory. Candidates should have sufficient knowledge of the different routes in Jordan, including access to refugee camps, and must demonstrate documented results related to the responsibilities of the position. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a familiarity with Jordanian traffic rules and regulations. The ability to work in complex and volatile contexts is also required, along with a strong sense of trustworthiness and approachability.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Tawjihi or an equivalent qualification. This foundational education is essential for understanding the responsibilities and duties associated with the role of a Driver in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in driving, particularly in humanitarian or recovery settings. Experience in complex and volatile environments is highly valued, as it prepares the candidate for the challenges they may face in this role. Previous experience working with organizations similar to NRC is an advantage.

Languages:
While knowledge of English is beneficial, it is not mandatory. However, candidates must possess strong communication skills in Arabic, as this is essential for effective interaction with staff and stakeholders in Jordan.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require working in insecure environments. The Driver will be expected to work flexible hours, including covering shifts as per the duty roster. The role does not specify a contract duration, but candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that may involve various logistical challenges.
