Job Overview: The Programme ManagementAnalyst position is situated within the Programme SupportManagement Unit (PSMU) of UN Women, which is part of the Strategy, Planning, Results and Effectiveness Division (SPRED). The role involves supporting the programmatic functions of PSMU, including the coordination of Global Project Appraisal Committee (GPAC) meetings, capacity building and training events, and knowledge management. The analyst will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on PSMU's workplans, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and requirements. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Regional PSMU focal points and other HQ divisions, to ensure effective implementation of projects and programs. The Programme Management Analyst will also oversee operations related to financial and human resources management, procurement, and logistical services, ensuring adherence to UN Women rules and regulations. This role is critical in enhancing the capacity of UN Women to deliver its programs effectively and efficiently, contributing to the organization's strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Management Analyst will have a range of responsibilities, including:
Providing coordination support for PSMU work planning, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring timely completion of data entry in relevant systems.
Coordinating the development of PSMU components of workplans in collaboration with the PSMU team and SPRED Directorate.
Monitoring and reporting on PSMU's delivery against workplan activities on a quarterly basis and managing budget revisions.
Supporting the organization of mid-year and annual review meetings for PSMU components.
Coordinating the GPAC calendar and managing PAC meetings, ensuring documentation completeness and liaising with relevant units.
Supporting internal and external audits and assessments, including data collection and follow-up on audit recommendations.
Coordinating capacity building and training events, providing logistical support for workshops and training sessions.
Managing knowledge and document management within PSMU, ensuring effective use of shared drives and communication tools.
Overseeing operations activities, including budget, finance, human resources, and procurement, ensuring compliance with UN Women policies. 1
Facilitating recruitment processes and managing contracts for staff and consultants. 1
Supporting logistics and travel arrangements for official missions. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, HR, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Project Management certification from a recognized global body is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of project and program management principles, as well as operational processes within large international organizations. Knowledge of UN systems and procedures is advantageous, along with the ability to handle confidential information and provide sound advice and support.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include a master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or Human Resources. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. Additionally, certification in Project Management from a recognized global body is a valuable asset that enhances a candidate's qualifications for this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in program and project management within a large international or corporate organization. Candidates should have experience in office management, operations, or budget/finance, as well as proficiency in using computers and office software packages, including MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, such as Oracle Cloud, is essential. Experience in international development or humanitarian work at various levels is desirable, along with knowledge management and strategic planning experience.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role.
