International Consultant - Environment and Health Governance for Implementation of the EHP Commitments

Job Overview:
The International Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the WHO ECEH's efforts to provide Secretariat services to the European Environment and Health Process (EHP) Partnerships. This position involves promoting the visibility of the EHP and translating political commitments into actionable strategies. The consultant will engage with Member States and stakeholders to enhance collaboration on shared priorities, ensuring that the commitments made during the Seventh Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health are effectively implemented. The consultant will be responsible for technical coordination, communication, and the preparation of various reports and materials that highlight the progress and achievements of the EHP Partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Technical Coordination and Communication of the EHP Partnerships: Revise templates for information collection, engage with lead countries to gather inputs, draft technical content for leaflets, prepare annual reports, develop video scripts, create social media content, and maintain the EHP SharePoint.
• Technical Inputs for EHTF Meetings: Compile inputs for EHTF documentation, draft session briefs, prepare content for presentations and exhibitions, and summarize key outcomes from discussions. The consultant will ensure that all materials align with WHO standards and effectively communicate the work of the EHP Partnerships.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in public health or environmental studies, with desirable experience in journalism or communication. Candidates should possess excellent writing and communication skills in English, with the ability to synthesize technical inputs into clear briefs. Strong coordination skills and knowledge of WHO branding are essential, along with proficiency in standard software applications. Desirable qualifications include experience in social media and multimedia production.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental studies, or a related field. A background in journalism, communication, or media studies is desirable but not mandatory. Educational qualifications must be obtained from accredited institutions recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires up to 5 years of professional experience, preferably 3 years, in supporting international policy processes or capacity-building initiatives related to environment and health. Experience working with United Nations organizations or other multilateral institutions is essential, as is experience in drafting technical reports and managing multiple workstreams. Candidates should demonstrate a history of supporting intergovernmental meetings and engaging with a variety of stakeholders.

Languages:
Expert knowledge of English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another WHO/Europe official language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

The contract duration is expected to be a maximum of 11 months, with a total of 40 days of work scheduled between September and December 202

• The consultant will work remotely but may need to travel to Ireland for the EHTF meeting scheduled for November 24-25, 202
• The remuneration is set at a payband level A, ranging from USD 198 to 349 per day, translating to a monthly salary of USD 3955 to 698
