Job Overview: The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will oversee the logistics department at the Gaza base, ensuring the structuring of supply and logistics operations in strict compliance with donor requirements and internal procedures of Solidarités International. The role is set against a backdrop of high volatility and emergency conditions, characterized by a disrupted market and unpredictable supply chains. The manager will be tasked with implementing and training teams on SI processes and donor rules, transitioning from emergency procedures to standard operations. The position requires a proactive approach to managing logistics in a challenging environment, with a focus on enhancing the autonomy of the base and ensuring effective coordination between base and coordination teams. The role is crucial for maintaining operational relevance and expanding the organization's impact in the region, particularly following the ceasefire and evolving operational landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the logistics department of the Gaza base, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and SI internal procedures.
Implement and train teams on logistics processes and donor regulations, facilitating a transition from emergency to standard procedures.
Oversee supply chain management, addressing challenges related to border closures and delivery disruptions.
Coordinate with local partners and stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness.
Monitor and evaluate logistics operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely and efficient procurement of goods and services.
Prepare and manage logistics budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and transparency in all operations.
Conduct regular assessments of the logistics environment and adapt strategies accordingly to mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3-4 years in a similar logistics management role.
Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, particularly in emergency contexts.
Proven experience in managing teams and conducting training sessions.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills, with a focus on problem-solving and adaptability in complex environments.
Attention to detail and a commitment to compliance with organizational and donor standards.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in humanitarian logistics or project management would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 3-4 years in a logistics management position. Experience in high-pressure environments and emergency response is essential, as is familiarity with donor regulations and compliance requirements.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset. Strong communication skills in both languages are essential for effective coordination and reporting.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract lasting 7 months, with a start date of July 20, 2026, and involves 3 rotations. The salary is competitive, starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, plus a monthly per diem of USD 75
Accommodation costs and travel expenses are covered by SI. The role includes a system of alternating work and time off, with breaks scheduled at a rate of 2 weeks every 8 weeks. Expatriates will benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions in Deir El Balah have improved since the ceasefire, with basic food items available, although at high prices. The SI office and guesthouse are solar-powered, and internet access is available with occasional shortages.
