The Assistant Field Security Officer will also engage with local law enforcement and security actors, providing training and advice to UNHCR staff and partners, and preparing reports on security incidents as per UNHCR standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant Field Security Officer's duties include supporting the management of safety and security for UNHCR personnel and operations, developing security risk management processes, assisting in the creation of evacuation and relocation plans, and ensuring security measures are integrated into operational planning. The incumbent will respond to personnel queries regarding security, contribute to the physical protection of displaced individuals, maintain relationships with security actors, provide security advice and training, conduct security drills, prepare reports on security incidents, and ensure compliance with security policies. Additionally, the officer will undertake other security-related duties as assigned by the supervisor, manage risks, and communicate changes in security policies effectively to personnel.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a solid understanding of security management and risk analysis, with relevant experience in security functions, preferably within the UN, NGOs, or law enforcement. Essential functional skills include security planning, security analysis, and computer literacy. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience: The position requires at least one year of relevant experience for candidates with an undergraduate degree.
