Job Overview: The Research and CoordinationAnalyst – Business Transformation plays a crucial role in supporting the effective running of business transformation initiatives within UN Women. Reporting to the Advisor – Business Transformation and under the secondary supervision of the Director of the Strategy, Planning, Resources and Effectiveness Division (SPRED), the Analyst will contribute to the development and implementation of the business transformation plan. This position is integral to the realization of UN Women’s Strategic Plan 2022-2025, which emphasizes organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The Analyst will be responsible for providing substantive inputs to the organization’s strategy, conducting research and analysis, and ensuring that the ambitions of the business transformation initiatives are met. This role requires collaboration with colleagues across the organization to facilitate the implementation of specific components of the Strategic Plan, thereby enhancing UN Women’s operational capabilities and governance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Research and Coordination Analyst include but are not limited to: contributing technically to the development and implementation of business transformation initiatives; preparing background documents, guidance notes, briefs, and presentations related to business transformation; liaising and managing relationships with relevant focal points within UN Women to gather data and validate information; organizing meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions; preparing, reviewing, and analyzing papers; providing operating context analysis to inform the business transformation strategy; collecting and managing information and databases; developing correspondence, reports, presentations, and other knowledge products; providing technical assistance to UN Women’s corporate oversight of its organizational design; collecting, validating, and analyzing data relevant to ongoing monitoring of organizational typologies; providing technical support to governance processes; coordinating with clients and developing agendas for business transformation engagements; managing a network of Change Facilitation Teams; acting as the Budget Allocation Committee Secretariat; ensuring quality assurance of meeting documentation; maintaining a matrix of required actions from BAC meetings; and contributing to the development of UN Women’s upcoming Strategic Plan and Integrated Budget.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in coordinating processes/projects, maintaining data, and reviewing and analyzing processes and documents. Experience in business transformation is essential, while experience liaising and coordinating with multiple offices is desirable. Strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to handle confidential information are also required.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, or international development. A first-level university degree may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree if accompanied by additional qualifying experience. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender equality and women's empowerment, as well as the operational frameworks within which UN Women operates.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in roles that involve coordinating processes and projects, maintaining data, and reviewing and analyzing documents. Experience specifically in business transformation is required, indicating that candidates should have a solid understanding of the principles and practices involved in transforming organizational processes. Additionally, experience in liaising and coordinating with multiple offices is considered an asset, as it demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively across different teams and departments.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of UN Women. Additionally, fluency in French and/or Spanish is desirable, reflecting the organization's commitment to multilingualism and its global operations.
