Job Overview: The Deputy CountryDirector - Support (DCD-Support) plays a crucial role in the operationalization of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL's country response in Myanmar. This position oversees the logistics, human resources, administrative, and financial departments, ensuring that these departments align with the humanitarian intervention challenges faced in the region. The DCD-Support acts as a key contact for Field Coordinators and is responsible for ensuring compliance with SI's global internal frameworks and procedures, adapting them to the specific challenges encountered in the field. The role involves navigating access challenges and remote management due to bureaucratic impediments, which impact the completion of activities and budget consumption. The DCD-Support must also manage a diverse programming scope that includes emergency response and development activities, primarily focusing on WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security, and shelter. Duties and Responsibilities: The DCD-Support will be responsible for several key activities, including:
Reviewing and strategizing the support departments' action plans for 2026, ensuring they are clear, tangible, and realistic.
Supporting Finance and Human Resources coordinators in stabilizing the Shared Costs methodology and liaising with the Senior Management Team (SMT) regarding organizational structure and planning.
Assessing the localization process and developing prioritized action plans for interactions with local responders, including budget planning and procurement protocol reviews.
Collaborating closely with the Country Director and field coordinators to plan and monitor the restructuring of bases, including organizational charts and key processes.
Conducting internal audits based on previous recommendations and identifying key internal processes at risk of non-compliance with operational and legal standards in Myanmar. The DCD-Support must also ensure the safety and security of the SI office and adapt to remote management requirements, applying a strong digital security framework.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Humanitarian Affairs, Finance, or Operational Services. They should have extensive knowledge of SI procedures across Finance, HR, and Logistics, as well as experience in operational monitoring and internal auditing. Strong skills in partnership development, including due diligence and capacity assessment, are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate personnel management capabilities and possess leadership qualities that facilitate coordination both internally and externally. Innovative thinking and a solutions-oriented approach are also critical for success in this role.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Humanitarian Affairs, Finance, or Operational Services is required for this position. This educational background equips candidates with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage the complexities of humanitarian operations and support functions.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 2 to 3 years in a similar position. This experience should include managing support departments and navigating the challenges associated with humanitarian interventions in complex environments.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset due to the number of grants funded by French sources, which require communication with Paris. Knowledge of Burmese is also a strong asset, facilitating local engagement and collaboration.

The role is based in Yangon, Myanmar, and is not currently available as a family package. The compensation includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3,080, which consists of a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 600 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. Expatriates will benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions in Yangon are reported to be very good, with access to necessary services and a range of social and sporting activities.
