Job Overview: The Project Coordinator position is designed to coordinate and support project management efforts, enhancing collaboration and engagement among project partners under the guidance of the Programme Manager. The role involves leading initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of partners while ensuring that all activities align with the program's priorities and objectives. The Project Coordinator will also play a crucial role in developing new program proposals, modification requests, and reports. This includes creating training materials based on standardized tools and guidelines, and conducting capacity-building training sessions for both staff and non-staff of project partners. Additionally, the coordinator will facilitate consultations and workshops focused on emergency preparedness and response, actively participate in State Coordination meetings, and ensure accurate documentation of meeting minutes, context updates, and action points. The role also includes contributing to After Action Review workshops, analyzing reports, and extracting lessons learned for program improvements. The Project Coordinator will support partner staff in conducting needs assessments and monitoring activities to ensure the integration of protection measures and the identification of protection risks, as well as contribute to environmental mainstreaming and technical aspects related to WASH, Protection, Gender, and Cash as assigned by the Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support project management activities, ensuring effective collaboration among project partners.
Lead capacity strengthening initiatives for partners under the supervision of the Programme Manager.
Develop new program proposals, modification requests, and reports in alignment with program objectives.
Create training materials and conduct capacity-building trainings for project partners’ staff and non-staff.
Participate in State Coordination meetings, ensuring proper recording of minutes, context updates, and action points.
Contribute to After Action Review workshops, analyze AAR reports, and extract learnings for program adaptations.
Lead Peer-to-Peer exchange sessions to promote cross-learning on best practices among partners.
Support partner staff in needs assessments, consultations, and monitoring activities to ensure the mainstreaming of protection and the identification of protection risks. 1
Contribute to environmental mainstreaming, including the analysis of environmental-related risks. 1
Provide technical support in areas such as WASH, Protection, Gender, and Cash as assigned by the Manager.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience working in humanitarian or emergency contexts, particularly with UN agencies or international/local NGOs.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in cash assistance programs.
Proficiency in multi-sectoral emergency response, including food and non-food items (NFIs) and WASH.
Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential.
Strong command of oral and written English is required.
Demonstrated strong coordination and interpersonal skills.
Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position are expected.
Knowledge of personal leadership skills and profile is important. 1
Willingness to travel frequently within Myanmar is required.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in social sciences, humanitarian studies, international development, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in project management or emergency response may be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in humanitarian or emergency contexts, with a strong focus on cash assistance programs and multi-sectoral emergency response. Experience in complex and volatile environments is crucial, as is a proven track record in capacity building and localization efforts.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both oral and written. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Myanmar would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with local partners and communities.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and may require frequent travel within Myanmar.
