Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the effective and timely implementation of the ECHO-funded project titled 'Safe and Whole: Integrated Lifesaving GBV and SRH support for Women and Girls in Crisis-Affected Myanmar.' This role involves coordinating various project activities aimed at delivering integrated services related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to vulnerable populations in crisis-affected areas. The Project Coordinator will work closely with implementing partners and UNFPA teams to ensure that project objectives are met while adhering to compliance and reporting requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to managing challenges in access-constrained environments and ensuring that the project aligns with UNFPA's humanitarian strategy and ECHO guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Implementation and Coordination: Lead the daily coordination and execution of the ECHO-funded project, ensuring activities are delivered on time and in accordance with the approved work plan and budget. Collaborate with implementing partners to ensure that project activities are effectively planned and executed.
  • Partner Management and Technical Follow-up: Act as the main point of contact for implementing partners, monitoring their progress and addressing any challenges that arise. Ensure that partners adhere to technical standards and guidelines related to GBV, SRH, and MHPSS.
  • Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance: Track project progress against established indicators and prepare reports for internal and donor purposes. Ensure compliance with UNFPA and donor requirements, including documentation and audit readiness.
  • Financial and Operational Management: Assist in budget monitoring and ensure timely utilization of funds. Review financial reports from partners to ensure consistency with project activities.
  • Coordination and Representation: Maintain effective communication with UNFPA field offices and partners to ensure coherence across implementation areas.
  • Knowledge Management and Communication: Compile project information and contribute to the development of reports and communication materials.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to support effective project implementation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian program coordination or project management, particularly in GBV, SRH, or MHPSS. Experience managing donor-funded projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting, is essential. Strong coordination and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively in complex and access-constrained environments. Previous experience with EU projects is an advantage.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and coordinate humanitarian projects, particularly those focused on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian program coordination or project management. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing donor-funded projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. Experience working with implementing partners and a strong understanding of integrated humanitarian programming are essential.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and the Myanmar language is mandatory. Fluency in additional ethnic languages such as Shan, Karen, Kachin, or Rohingya is considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse communities in Myanmar.
