Job Overview: The Strategic Information Officer for Integrated Health will play a crucial role in the EpiC Project in Myanmar, which aims to enhance health interventions for vulnerable populations. This position is responsible for the collection, management, analysis, and utilization of strategic information to support evidence-based programming. The officer will lead data processes that ensure the quality and reliability of data, which is essential for program planning, implementation, and performance monitoring. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and partners to improve data quality and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. The officer will also contribute to the development of strategic information tools and guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with project work plans and donor expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Strategic Information Officer will be responsible for leading routine data collection, consolidation, cleaning, validation, and analysis to support program planning and performance monitoring. They will contribute to the design and rollout of data collection tools and reporting templates, and support the development of strategic information systems and workflows to enhance standardization and efficiency. The officer will maintain and update strategic information systems, dashboards, datasets, and reporting tools to ensure accurate and timely information is available for decision-making. Regular data quality assessments will be conducted to ensure data completeness and consistency across project partners. The officer will also coordinate with partners to meet internal and external data reporting requirements, assist in synthesizing reports, and provide technical assistance to partners on data collection tools and reporting processes. Additionally, the officer will facilitate communication between project teams and partner focal points to ensure smooth information flow.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong knowledge of data management, analysis, visualization, and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, and DHIS
A solid understanding of infectious disease programs in Myanmar, including HIV, TB, and malaria, is essential. The ability to interpret complex datasets and produce clear, actionable insights is required, along with strong communication skills to translate technical data into user-friendly formats. Knowledge of local organizations addressing infectious diseases in Myanmar is also important, as is a good command of English and fluency in the Myanmar language.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in Public Health, Health, Data Science, or related subjects is required for this position. Candidates with relevant education and experience will be considered, and an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the key responsibilities of the job may also be acceptable.
Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience is required, with prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization preferred. Experience with USAID or other USG-funded projects is also advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in the Myanmar language is mandatory, and a good command of English is also required. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Yangon, with limited travel (less than 10% of the time) outside the city. The expected hiring salary range for this role is USD 12,000 - 14,000 annually for basic salary.
