Job Overview: The WPS Analyst position is integral to UN Women Afghanistan's efforts to enhance women's participation in peace and security initiatives. The role involves supporting the implementation of HR strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with UN Women regulations, and facilitating recruitment processes. The WPS Analyst will engage with civil society and government counterparts to monitor and coordinate UN Women interventions. This position requires a strong commitment to gender equality and the ability to work in a challenging environment, contributing to the effective implementation of HR strategies that align with UN Women’s mission to advance women's empowerment and gender equality in Afghanistan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer and implement HR strategies and policies in compliance with UN Women rules and regulations, providing guidance to staff on HR matters.
Provide HR administrative and logistical services, including processing correspondence, maintaining records, and managing payroll and benefits.
Facilitate recruitment processes by drafting job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. They should demonstrate a commitment to gender equality and have a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in using HR management systems and databases is required, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant area is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience in human resources management, preferably within the UN system or other international organizations. Experience in recruitment processes, performance management, and HR data management is essential. Familiarity with gender equality issues and the ability to work in a multicultural environment are highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages such as Dari or Pashto is an asset and will be considered a plus for this position.
Additional Notes: This position is a United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment, which may involve working in challenging conditions. Candidates should be prepared for a commitment to live and work in Afghanistan, which may require cultural sensitivity and adaptability. The role is full-time, and the duration of the contract will be specified upon selection. Compensation and benefits will be in accordance with UNV conditions of service.
