Job Overview:
The Social Support position is crucial for the day-to-day implementation of core competency and related project activities within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Social Support position include ensuring adherence to the organization's policies, facilitating project activities that reach the most vulnerable populations, and maintaining proper documentation. The officer will carry out data collection as required and prepare relevant documents according to established procedures. They will coordinate with community leaders and local authorities to ensure transparency and accountability during the selection, verification, and registration of beneficiaries. The officer will also establish complaints and feedback mechanisms, lead community mobilization efforts, and disseminate essential information regarding cash distribution and related activities. Additionally, they will follow up with self-help groups and support income-generating activities, ensuring equal participation from all segments of the IDPs, returnees, and hosting communities, while considering gender, age, and disability issues. The officer will prepare and submit organized reports to the Livelihoods and Food Security Project Coordinator and undertake any other tasks relevant to the position as requested by the line manager.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to the organization's mission. Candidates must possess a BA Degree in natural or social sciences or other relevant disciplines. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in livelihood and food security, multi-purpose cash assistance, and community mobilization activities within a humanitarian or recovery context. Experience working with government authorities and vulnerable beneficiaries is essential, and familiarity with the Ethiopian context, particularly regarding IDPs, returnees, and refugee camps, is advantageous.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a BA Degree in natural or social sciences or other relevant fields. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the social support and humanitarian assistance landscape in which the organization operates.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in areas such as livelihood and food security, multi-purpose cash assistance, and community mobilization activities. Experience working in humanitarian or recovery contexts, particularly with government authorities and vulnerable populations, is crucial. Familiarity with the Ethiopian context, especially regarding IDPs, returnees, and refugee camps, is considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in Tigrigna, which is a local language, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a fair understanding of the English language is required to facilitate communication and reporting within the organization and with external partners.
