Job Overview:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the Safety Risk Management (SRM) system for DRC operations in Lebanon. This role requires specialized knowledge and guidance to ensure the safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of all DRC staff through the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, security assessments, and contingency planning. The Safety Coordinator will engage with various stakeholders for safety, programmatic, and administrative purposes, ensuring that DRC's operations are conducted safely and securely. The position demands a proactive approach to safety management, including the analysis of situational developments and the provision of evidence-based updates to senior management and staff. The Safety Coordinator will also facilitate safety risk assessments and support the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures based on identified risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Safety Coordinator's responsibilities include overseeing the Safety Risk Management (SRM) process, operationalizing tools such as Safety Risk Assessments, Safety Level System assessments, and Critical Incident Management Plans. The Coordinator will analyze and report on situational developments within Lebanon and the Middle East, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of safety and security considerations. They will facilitate Safety Risk Assessments and support the implementation of mitigation measures, develop safety management policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with local safety rules. The Coordinator will also manage safety incidents, provide timely reports, and promote the use of DRC's Safety Incident Reporting system. Additionally, the Safety Coordinator will develop the capacity of Crisis Management Teams, oversee safety-related training for staff, and engage with external stakeholders to address security challenges and facilitate access to DRC programs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a safety and security manager or adviser within an international non-governmental organization (INGO). They should have experience working in multicultural settings and a proven ability to develop and implement effective safety protocols and systems. Candidates must demonstrate experience in contextual information gathering, analysis, and report writing, as well as the ability to conduct high-quality safety risk assessments. Proven experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including humanitarian actors and government entities, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in critical incident management and delivering safety-related training, along with excellent coordination, communication, organizational, and planning skills.

Educational Background:
