Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position at UN Women Myanmar Country Office is integral to the implementation of the Women’s Resilience, Empowerment, Access, Capacities and Human Rights (Women’s R.E.A.C.H. Project). This project aims to address the immediate and long-term needs of gender-based violence (GBV) survivors and at-risk women, enhancing their resilience through integrated livelihoods and GBV prevention interventions. The Programme Associate will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for supporting the Programme Team in developing and implementing effective programs that align with UN Women’s rules and regulations. This role involves contributing to research, financial management, and program implementation, as well as providing operational, administrative, and programmatic support. The Programme Associate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including operations, program, and project staff at the Country Office, Regional Office, and UN Women Headquarters, to resolve complex finance-related issues and facilitate the exchange of information.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will undertake a variety of duties, including:
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for the formulation and management of programs/projects, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals;
  • Offering technical guidance to program/project personnel and implementing partners on routine delivery and reporting of activities and finances;
  • Preparing information for audits and supporting the implementation of audit recommendations;
  • Reviewing data for the Country Office website;
  • Identifying sources and compiling data for reports, guidelines, speeches, and resource mobilization papers;
  • Supporting financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring program/project finances;
  • Undertaking logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events;
  • Assisting in resource mobilization activities, including preparing materials and following up on action points;
  • Facilitating knowledge building and sharing best practices related to program/project management and finance; 1
  • Performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary education is mandatory;
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration is considered an asset;
  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support;
  • Experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is essential;
  • Experience in supporting a team is required;
  • Familiarity with a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration being an asset. This educational background is essential for understanding the administrative and programmatic functions required in this role.

Experience:
The Programme Associate should have a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. This experience should include working in a computer environment with multiple office software packages and supporting a team effectively. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in English and the Myanmar language is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered desirable, enhancing communication and collaboration within the UN framework.
