Job Overview: The Monitoring and ReportingAnalyst position at UN Women involves providing critical support to the Myanmar Country Office in integrating monitoring and reporting into program formulation. The role is essential for tracking progress against the Strategic Plan targets and ensuring that results are communicated effectively to both internal and external stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for developing monitoring indicators, facilitating the collection and analysis of data, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring project outcomes, supporting the development of Performance Monitoring Frameworks, and contributing to the overall success of the Women’s R.E.A.C.H. Project. The analyst will also engage in capacity building efforts, promoting understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes among staff and partners, and will play a key role in knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate the incorporation of monitoring and reporting into program formulation, including the development of monitoring indicators and quality assurance processes.
Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of results against country and regional targets, ensuring standardized data collection and analysis across programs.
Facilitate the reporting of results to internal and external audiences, including drafting donor and program reports and ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines.
Provide technical support in the implementation of the UN Women Evaluation Policy, guiding staff and partners on monitoring and evaluations.
Contribute to knowledge building and capacity development by identifying good practices and facilitating training opportunities in Results Based Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Political or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should have a strong understanding of program formulation and implementation, as well as Results Based Management principles.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Political or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, or Gender/Women's Studies. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is also beneficial.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in monitoring and reporting of development projects or programs is required. Experience within the United Nations system is desirable, along with field experience. Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, as well as experience with web-based management systems, is essential. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is also desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English and the Myanmar language is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
