Job Overview: The Senior Consultant for Executive Coaching will provide coaching sessions to Senior Managers in the Asia-Pacific region over a 12-month period. The role involves supporting these managers in leading their offices and teams through transitions and changes, particularly in the context of feminist leadership. The consultant will work under the guidance of the Regional Director and the Regional HR Business Partner, facilitating one-hour coaching sessions that are tailored to the needs of the managers. The consultant will be engaged on a retainer contract, which allows for flexibility in accepting assignments based on UN Women’s needs. The number of coaching sessions will be determined in consultation with UN Women, and payment will be based on the actual sessions delivered. This position is home-based, but may require travel as per UN Women’s Travel Policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide executive coaching sessions to Senior Managers in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on leadership development and team management during periods of transition.
Collaborate with UN Women to determine the number of coaching sessions required and tailor the content to meet the specific needs of the managers.
Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the varying availability of Senior Managers.
Ensure that all coaching sessions adhere to UN Women’s policies and guidelines.
Engage in ongoing communication with the Regional Director and Regional HR Business Partner to report on progress and outcomes of coaching sessions.
Prepare and submit reports on coaching effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Stay updated on best practices in executive coaching and leadership development, particularly in the context of gender equality and empowerment.
A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managing human resources and/or change management processes is required.
Significant experience in Organizational Design and Development is a strong advantage.
Experience in management consulting, particularly within the UN system or public sector, is highly desirable.
Familiarity with UN Women or UNDP HR and Administrative policies is an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as human resources management, organizational development, business administration, public administration, or change management. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively support Senior Managers in their leadership roles.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managing human resources and/or change management processes. Candidates with experience in Organizational Design and Development will have a significant advantage. Additionally, experience in management consulting, especially within the UN system or public sector, is highly desirable. Familiarity with UN Women or UNDP HR and Administrative policies will also be beneficial for candidates applying for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of any other UN official language is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication and collaboration within the diverse international environment of UN Women.
Additional Notes: This consultancy is structured as a retainer contract, meaning that the consultant will be contacted for specific assignments which they may accept or decline. The payment for coaching sessions will be agreed upon in advance and will be based on the actual sessions delivered.
