Job Overview:
The Logistics Responsible position is crucial for supporting the Logistics Coordinator in overseeing the logistical activities of Solidarités International’s mission in Syria. The role involves ensuring the smooth implementation of in-country programs by contributing to the logistics procedures and tools, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. The Logistics Responsible will participate in mission strategy discussions, project design, and assess the logistical resources needed to support activities. In the absence of the Logistics Coordinator or Field Logistics Manager, this position will act as the logistics focal point, ensuring operational continuity and serving as the link between field bases and coordination on logistics-related matters. The first two to three months will focus on understanding the mission’s context, building relationships with field teams, familiarizing with logistics tools and procedures, and providing support to field teams through coaching and capacity building.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Responsible will have a variety of duties including supporting the Logistics Coordinator in managing logistical activities, ensuring compliance with logistics procedures, participating in strategy discussions, and assessing logistical needs. The role requires building strong relationships with field teams, understanding their operational needs, and providing ongoing support. The Logistics Responsible must ensure adherence to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security regulations and procedures while traveling throughout Syria. Responsibilities also include managing fleet operations, stock management, asset management, procurement processes, and customs clearance procedures. The position demands effective communication and reporting, as well as team leadership and capacity-building skills.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Training or professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with at least 1-2 years in a similar logistics position. Technical skills in humanitarian logistics management, including fleet, stock, IT, and asset management, are essential. Proven experience in fleet management, stock management, and compliance with communication equipment standards is necessary. Familiarity with procurement processes and logistics reporting is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent field. Additional training or certifications related to logistics or supply chain management are considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1-2 years in a similar logistics role. Candidates should have substantial experience in humanitarian logistics management, demonstrating skills in fleet management, stock management, and team supervision. Experience in capacity building and compliance with organizational standards is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication within the organization and with local communities.

The position is a salaried role with a monthly gross salary of 1,620 USD, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. The mission duration is set for 6 months, subject to renewal or extension. The role is based in Damascus, Syria, with frequent travel required throughout the country.
