Job Overview: This internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the Learning and Development Team of the Development and Conduct Unit, Human Resources Management Section, Division of Administration (DA) at ESCAP. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Human Resources Officer. The internship is designed to be full-time, requiring a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, and spans a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months. The role is unpaid, and the duration can be adjusted based on the successful candidate's needs. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the production of videos and multimedia materials aimed at enhancing online courses and other learning channels that facilitate staff learning and development within ESCAP. Responsibilities will vary based on the intern's background and the internship duration, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multimedia production.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will encompass a variety of tasks related to video and multimedia production, including but not limited to: assisting in the editing of scripts and storyboards for videos, animations, and other multimedia content; producing and editing multimedia content such as videos, motion graphics, and visual assets; applying quality standards and conducting accessibility checks to ensure compliance with required guidelines; preparing multimedia materials by formatting and optimizing files, and supporting integration and testing within the Learning Management System; organizing, versioning, and maintaining multimedia files while ensuring secure storage on platforms like SharePoint; documenting processes, templates, and production steps to promote consistency and facilitate future updates; and performing additional related tasks as necessary to support the development of learning products and communication initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not a requirement for the UN Internship Programme, candidates must have a field of study closely related to the internship they are applying for. Proficiency in standard software applications, including MS Office and multimedia production applications, is essential. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Studio, CapCut, and Canva is desirable, as is knowledge of Generative AI tools and Moodle.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes either enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program. This educational foundation should ideally be in a field that is closely related to multimedia production, communications, or a similar area that supports the responsibilities of the internship.
Experience: While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should possess relevant academic knowledge and skills that align with the tasks they will undertake during their time at ESCAP. This internship is particularly suited for individuals looking to gain practical experience in multimedia production and learning development within an international organization.
