Job Overview:
The Business Analyst Officer position is part of the Global Operations team within the PSP (Private Sector Partnerships) division of UNOPS. The primary function of this role is to support the team in enhancing and maintaining the planning and reporting tools that are essential for the fundraising network. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and delivering user-friendly web interfaces for the PSP global operations intranet platform, as well as creating and managing SharePoint sites to meet business needs. This role requires collaboration with business users to translate objectives into functional specifications and involves developing custom solutions using Microsoft technologies. The position also entails monitoring and tracking progress on action points, ensuring data accuracy, and providing administrative support to the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Business Analyst Officer include:
  • Designing and delivering visually engaging web interfaces for the PSP global operations intranet platform.
  • Creating, designing, and maintaining SharePoint site collections and pages to support business needs.
  • Developing application templates, use cases, and test cases, and performing software testing for new modules.
  • Contributing to the redevelopment of PSP Web Applications and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitoring progress on action points and managing issues related to PSP Web Applications.
  • Developing and maintaining user guides and training materials for PSP Web Applications.
  • Managing user access and permissions for the PSP Digital Workplace.
  • Collaborating with business users to translate requirements into functional specifications.
  • Designing and implementing custom solutions using Microsoft Form, Power Apps, and Power Automate. 1
  • Preparing reference files for Quarterly Reports and supporting data validation. 1
  • Designing and delivering Power BI reports and dashboards based on business needs. 1
  • Analyzing financial transactions to verify data accuracy within the PSP Investment BI Analytics Platform. 1
  • Providing support to fundraising network end-users for reporting queries. 1
  • Carrying out other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Business Analyst Officer position include:
  • A High School Degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience with a High School Diploma or 2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience with the UN or similar contexts is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence Solutions, including Microsoft Power Query, Power View, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 and SharePoint information delivery tools or equivalent technologies.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Degree as a minimum requirement. A preferred educational qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary technical skills and knowledge to perform the duties associated with the role effectively.
