Job Overview:

The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Unit's projects related to the control of sources network (CSN) and the management of scrap metal containing radioactive materials. This involves assisting in the development, updating, and maintenance of a web platform and eLearning courses aimed at enhancing the safety and regulatory frameworks surrounding radiation sources. The intern will engage with various stakeholders, including regulators and users, to gather feedback and ensure that the tools and resources provided are comprehensive and effective. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the operations of the IAEA and contribute to important safety initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the planning, design, and updating of activities related to the Control of Sources Network (CSN) and the scrap metal toolkit; redesigning and maintaining the SharePoint site associated with the scrap metal toolkit; revising and updating content for eLearning materials; managing content delivery and ensuring quality; engaging with users to identify needs and gather feedback; and performing other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor. The role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Education Studies, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly SharePoint, is essential. Familiarity with eLearning platforms and web content management systems is also required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate problem-solving abilities, creativity, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary, along with a proactive and cooperative attitude. Some experience in project management is considered an asset, while a scientific academic background is not mandatory but would be beneficial.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. The internship is open to individuals who have not previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of three years of full-time university studies, which indicates a foundational level of experience in their field of study. While specific professional experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience, particularly in project management or related fields, would be advantageous.

Languages:
Good written and spoken English is essential for this position. Fluency in any other IAEA official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an asset and would enhance the candidate's profile.
