Job Overview: The Programme Analyst position is integral to the implementation and management of the Fund’s Regular Funding Cycle portfolio, specifically focusing on women, peace, and security as well as humanitarian action. Reporting to the Programme Coordinators (P3), the Programme Analyst will facilitate the development of funding allocations and initiatives, ensuring that they align with the Fund’s objectives. This role requires close collaboration with various WPHF teams, country management entities, and civil society organizations to ensure successful program implementation. The Programme Analyst will also contribute to advocacy efforts, knowledge building, and partnerships, providing substantive inputs to reports and documentation related to the Fund’s work. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying areas for support and intervention, as well as a commitment to capacity building and technical assistance for partners involved in the Regular Funding Cycle.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: contributing to the development of funding allocations and initiatives; providing substantive inputs for the design and formulation of funding initiatives; identifying areas for support related to funding allocations; supporting the coordination of Calls for Proposals with country offices; reviewing and evaluating proposals from prospective applicants; monitoring the implementation of the Fund’s portfolio; providing technical assistance and capacity development support; maintaining relationships with Management Entities; drafting reports on monitoring missions and country results; developing relevant documentation such as briefs and project summaries; coordinating meetings and events; and participating in public information events with stakeholders. The role requires a strong focus on monitoring progress, tracking financial delivery, and ensuring that the Fund’s objectives are met effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. The position requires at least one year of progressively responsible work experience in areas such as development policy, program/project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, or capacity building. Experience specifically related to women, peace, and security is essential, and familiarity with UN multi-partner trust funds and programs is desirable. Candidates should also have experience coordinating with partners in the field of women, peace, and security, and international experience is preferred.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or international development. A bachelor's degree may be considered if accompanied by two additional years of relevant experience. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender equality, humanitarian action, and development policies.
Experience: The position requires at least one year of relevant work experience, which should include progressively responsible roles in development policy, program/project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, or capacity building. Experience in programs or policies related to women, peace, and security is mandatory, while familiarity with UN multi-partner trust funds and experience in WPHF countries is highly desirable. Languages: Fluency in English and French is required for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of Arabic is desirable, and knowledge of other UN languages is considered advantageous.
