Job Overview: The Project Manager position is vital for the successful planning and execution of cross-team marketing and fundraising campaigns within the PG&E Department. This role is designed to keep complex, multi-channel initiatives on track in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time and are aligned across various teams. The Project Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of fundraising initiatives, which range from mass market campaigns to major giving efforts. This includes collaborating closely with internal teams and external agencies to manage timelines, clarify deliverables, and coordinate approvals. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining project management tools, workflows, and processes that enhance visibility, collaboration, and alignment across the department. By acting as a coordination hub for cross-functional teams, the Project Manager ensures that fundraising and marketing efforts are executed with consistency, clarity, and excellence, while also supporting strategic philanthropic initiatives as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including: designing and implementing project management processes, workflows, and RACI charts; establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for Wrike usage and governance in collaboration with stakeholders; understanding the unique needs, timelines, and goals of different fundraising portfolios; translating strategy across Mass Market, Midlevel, and Major Giving without losing nuance; ensuring coordination and alignment across teams to avoid duplicative work or conflicting donor touchpoints; creating shared visibility into activities, calendars, and priorities across fundraising teams; identifying opportunities for synergy and cross-team collaboration in supporter journeys; proactively identifying bottlenecks, risks, or capacity constraints and recommending solutions to keep projects on track; facilitating clear communication across teams, ensuring decision points, timelines, and responsibilities are well understood; leading strategic projects and key initiatives across the department as needed; ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and executed with excellence; supporting mass market, digital, and relationship-based fundraising teams as they execute campaigns and appeals; driving campaign execution across online and offline channels; developing and managing timelines, action plans, and documentation; coordinating deliverables to meet tight deadlines; contributing to achieving annual revenue and fundraising goals through strong campaign delivery and project coordination; supporting the approvals process for all campaign assets and deliverables; and collaborating with Major Giving, Midlevel, and Corporate fundraising teams to ensure campaigns are aligned, complementary, and donor-focused. Additionally, the Project Manager will monitor and report campaign status using Wrike to ensure transparency and alignment across teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Project Manager position should possess a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), along with marketing and/or fundraising experience. A minimum of 4 years of project management experience is required, which includes planning, documentation, and close-out. Additionally, candidates should have at least 4 years of experience using project management platforms, with Wrike experience being a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build strong cross-team relationships and foster collaboration, experience in creating, managing, and optimizing processes, and be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field such as marketing, communications, or nonprofit management.
