Job Overview:
The Associate position within the Malaria Team at CHAI is designed for a highly motivated individual who is eager to tackle complex problems and make a positive impact in the field of malaria control. This role involves direct support to governments in Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria, focusing on tailoring malaria strategies to local contexts and managing financial resources effectively. The Associate will engage in developing national strategic plans for malaria, conducting analyses to optimize funding, and improving program management. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: developing Excel-based budget and cost models for malaria interventions; conducting analyses to map available funding to needs and identify resource gaps; collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and optimize activities within the funding envelope; developing funding proposals to mobilize resources from entities like the Global Fund; facilitating evidence-based program reviews and strategic planning; assisting malaria programs in overcoming funding absorption and implementation challenges; strengthening the use of financial and programmatic data for informed decision-making; building relationships with stakeholders across CHAI, government, NGOs, and the private sector; facilitating coordination among various stakeholders; sharing updates and best practices; traveling to remote regions with limited infrastructure; and performing other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Essential qualifications for this position include professional-level fluency in English, both verbal and written; high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple work streams and prioritize effectively; capacity to work independently and flexibly in high-pressure situations; exceptional written and oral communication skills; and willingness to travel frequently within Africa, including rural areas.
