Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of a project focused on economic affairs, innovation, enterprise, and investment. This position requires a strong emphasis on project management and coordination, ensuring that all administrative processes are efficiently handled. The consultant will be expected to maintain organized project files, manage documentation, and keep an updated project event calendar. Additionally, the consultant will be responsible for tracking project activities and deliverables, ensuring that they align with the project delivery schedule. The role also involves financial reporting, donor relations, and monitoring and evaluation of project indicators, making it essential for the consultant to have a comprehensive understanding of project management principles and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties include:
Knowledge Management: Maintaining organized project files, consolidating project documents, and keeping an updated project event calendar.
Administrative Coordination: Supporting procurement and contract management processes, preparing documentation, and maintaining records in accordance with UN rules.
Project Tracking: Keeping track of project activities and deliverables in line with the project delivery schedule.
Financial Reporting: Coordinating financial reporting in alignment with donor guidelines and updating the project risk register.
Donor Relations: Engaging with stakeholders such as Palladium and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, preparing quarterly progress reports, and developing materials for donor communications.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking progress against project indicators, compiling evidence for reporting, and ensuring data collection aligns with the project MEL plan.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Economics, International Relations, Environmental Studies, Sustainable Development, Business, or a related field. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree may be considered if they have an additional two years of relevant work experience. A minimum of three years of experience in project/programme management and coordination is required, along with experience in the ASEAN region, promoting private sector development, donor coordination, and reporting. Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes is also essential, as is experience in knowledge management.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's Degree in a relevant field such as Economics, International Relations, Environmental Studies, Sustainable Development, or Business. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree will be considered if they have two additional years of relevant work experience, highlighting the importance of both formal education and practical experience in this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in project/programme management and coordination. Candidates should have experience working in the ASEAN region and a proven track record in promoting private sector development. Additionally, experience in donor coordination and reporting, including the preparation of progress reports and materials for development partners, is essential. Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes, as well as knowledge management practices, is highly desirable.
Languages: Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is required, and competency in another ASEAN Member State language is considered desirable, which would enhance the consultant's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and facilitate effective communication within the region.
Additional Notes: The expected duration of the contract is from 15 January to 15 July 2026, with a total duration of six months. The consultant will be evaluated based on their demonstrated expertise, timely delivery of outputs, and the quality of reports and other outputs in alignment with project objectives and donor expectations. Applicants are required to submit a motivational letter detailing their technical proposal, relevant methodologies, and examples of past projects.
