Job Overview:
As the Chef de projet Pharmacien(ne) for Atlas Logistique, you will report to the Pool & Preparedness Manager and be part of the deployment team. Your role involves leading the opening of Atlas Logistique projects in new intervention areas. You will be deployed on field missions lasting a maximum of two months. Between missions, you will capitalize on experiences, support the development of pilot projects, and contribute to strengthening emergency deployment mechanisms. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing the pharmaceutical logistics needs of humanitarian actors and conducting feasibility studies during crises, planning operations and implementing medical logistics activities efficiently, ensuring quality in projects, and training Atlas/HI teams on best practices in storage and distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include evaluating the pharmaceutical logistics needs of humanitarian actors, conducting risk assessments and regulatory monitoring regarding pharmaceutical activities with health authorities, planning and implementing medical logistics operations, ensuring quality and adherence to best practices in storage and distribution, developing training materials and conducting training for Atlas/HI teams, supporting the transfer of medical logistics training to pharmacy supervisors, contextualizing and disseminating field procedures, conducting audits and providing technical recommendations, ensuring proper administrative, logistical, and financial management of projects, monitoring activities through operational management tools, ensuring knowledge transfer and capitalization at the end of project openings, representing Atlas in humanitarian coordination mechanisms, and overseeing partnerships with medical organizations utilizing AL's logistical services.

Required Qualifications:
You must hold a Doctorate in Pharmacy with a specialization in Pharmaceutical Distribution/Industry or Public Health or a Humanitarian Diploma. You should have at least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist and at least 1 year of experience in humanitarian work. You must have a thorough understanding of best practices in the distribution and storage of medical products, particularly those requiring cold chain management. You should be capable of working under pressure in volatile security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security contexts, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to lead a team while being proactive and maintaining a sense of humor. You should enjoy working in a multicultural team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:
A Doctorate in Pharmacy is required, with a specialization in Pharmaceutical Distribution, Public Health, or a relevant humanitarian qualification. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary knowledge and skills to manage pharmaceutical logistics effectively in humanitarian settings.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a pharmacist is required, along with at least 1 year of experience in a humanitarian context. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities and challenges of delivering pharmaceutical aid in crisis situations.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is mandatory, while proficiency in Spanish is considered a plus. This multilingual capability is essential for effective communication in diverse humanitarian environments.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months starting in January 202
  • The position is based in Lyon but requires regular travel to field locations. Benefits include meal vouchers, employer health insurance, a managerial status with 34 days of paid leave and 13 RTT days annually for full-time employees, a monthly availability bonus of €620 gross (with a 48-hour deployment readiness), per diem based on the monthly rate of the deployment country, and a hardship allowance of €620 gross per month prorated for days spent in the field. The workplace is accessible via public transport, with parking and bike storage available. The office is designed for accessibility, featuring ramps and elevators, and offers open space workstations with quiet boxes available.
