Job Overview:
The Graphic Designer position is integral to the UNDP Jordan's Country Programme, which aims to enhance national priorities aligned with the 2030 Agenda. The selected candidate will assist in designing a visual campaign to raise awareness and increase participation in a fully funded green business training programme targeting Jordan's youth. This role involves creating multimedia products that align with the visual identity and guidelines of the Green Growth and Job Accelerator Programme. The designer will conceptualize and produce various visual assets, including social media cards, infographics, a digital brochure, a rollup banner, and a flyer, all aimed at promoting the training programme. The campaign will utilize both online and offline channels to engage the target audience effectively, and the designer will work under the guidance of the Project Manager and Communications Analyst to ensure that all materials meet the required standards and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Conceptualizing and designing a series of social media cards that provide an engaging overview of the training programme and its content, targeting platforms such as X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Creating infographics that outline the objectives of the training programme and highlight key benefits to encourage participation and registration.
  • Designing a compact digital brochure (5-10 pages) that outlines key information for each module of the training programme.
  • Developing a rollup banner design for the training programme, which will be displayed at various locations across Jordan, with specific dimensions of 2M X 85CM.
  • Producing a flyer design that includes a QR code for the training programme, intended for public dissemination, with dimensions of 14cm (Width) X 9.3cm (Height).
  • Ensuring that all visual assets are produced in both Arabic and English, adhering to the Green Growth and Job Accelerator Programme Brand Guidelines.
  • Delivering an editable design file, preferably using Canva, and utilizing Canva Premium if necessary.
  • Collaborating with the UNDP Jordan team to ensure that the visual materials effectively promote UNDP's thought leadership in critical development areas and resonate with the target audience.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Graphic Designer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work in creating visual assets for campaigns or educational materials.
  • Proficiency in design software, particularly Canva, and familiarity with other graphic design tools.
  • Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to adhere to brand guidelines in design work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Arabic and English, to ensure effective collaboration and understanding of project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Creativity and innovation in design, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Experience in designing for social media platforms and understanding of best practices for engaging visual content.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a relevant educational background in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field. A degree or diploma in graphic design or a similar discipline is preferred, along with formal training in design principles and techniques. Additional certifications in design software or digital media would be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in graphic design or a related field. Experience working on campaigns or projects that involve creating visual materials for educational or promotional purposes is highly desirable. Familiarity with the development sector or experience working with international organizations would be a plus.

Languages:
Proficiency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this position, as all visual assets must be produced in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset but is not required.
