Job Overview:
The Senior Programme Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator and Protection Officer. This position requires a proactive approach to managing project deliverables, including compiling and analyzing data, monitoring budget implementation, and ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders. The Senior Programme Associate will also be responsible for drafting reports, organizing training sessions, and maintaining records, all while ensuring compliance with project objectives and timelines. This role is essential for fostering collaboration among local authorities, partners, and other organizations involved in the project, thereby contributing to the overall success of IOM's mission in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Programme Associate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including: assisting in the planning and coordination of project activities; compiling and analyzing project-related data; monitoring budget implementation and proposing necessary adjustments; acting as the focal point for administrative coordination; drafting status reports and correspondence; organizing meetings and training sessions; responding to complex information requests; maintaining effective liaison with stakeholders; monitoring the work of implementing partners; providing inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); and supervising other staff as assigned. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited institution, along with four years of relevant professional experience. Additionally, experience in liaising with governmental authorities and working with vulnerable groups is essential. Proficiency in data collection and analysis, as well as familiarity with computer programs, including the MS Office suite, is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are also necessary for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include either a school diploma with extensive relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Law. The degree must be from an accredited academic institution, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the principles and practices relevant to migration and humanitarian work.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national and international institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Experience working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups is highly valued. Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multi-cultural setting is advantageous. Additionally, experience in data collection, processing, and analysis for research and policy writing is required, along with familiarity with data analysis and visualization software.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is mandatory for this position, both oral and written. Knowledge of Pashto and Dari is considered an advantage, as it may enhance communication with diverse populations. Proficiency in IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish, will be evaluated during the selection process, potentially through written and oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, meaning that only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Pakistan will be considered. The appointment will depend on the candidate's medical fitness, residency verification, and necessary government authorizations. The selection process may also be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months.
