Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on the project 'Power4Just Transition', which aims to assist Ukraine in creating future prospects for coal regions through economic development and the restructuring of energy systems. This initiative is guided by the principles of the Just Transition approach and is aligned with Ukraine's aspirations for EU membership. The project operates within four key areas: 1) Development of the strategic, regulatory, and institutional framework at the national level; 2) Implementation of a resilient and equitable structural transformation and strengthening energy security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security in coal regions at regional and local levels; 3) Financing the structural transformation in coal regions; and 4) Infrastructure for rehabilitation and green reconstruction. The internship will specifically focus on the fourth area, providing an opportunity to engage in meaningful work that contributes to the project's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will have various responsibilities, including conducting research, preparing information and data, supporting a fundraising campaign for technical goods aimed at restoring destroyed energy infrastructure, assisting in communication and coordination with the German private sector, contributing to the development of concepts, status reports, and communication products for both internal and external communication, organizing and accompanying internal and external events, and managing records within internal filing structures. This role will provide you with hands-on experience in project management and the opportunity to contribute to significant initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be students who are at least in their fourth semester of studies in political science, economics, energy economics, engineering, or a related field. A basic understanding of development cooperation, particularly in the energy and climate sectors, is essential. Interest in energy topics and collaboration with the private sector is also important. Previous internships and experience in project management are desirable. Proficiency in German and English is required, while knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is considered an advantage. Willingness to travel within Germany is necessary.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a university program, specifically those who are in their fourth semester or higher in fields related to political science, economics, energy economics, engineering, or similar disciplines. It is also necessary that candidates are currently enrolled in a program that includes an internship as an integral part of their studies, or that their graduation occurs no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have some prior experience, preferably through internships, in project management or related fields. This experience will help in understanding the dynamics of working within a project framework and contribute effectively to the tasks at hand.
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is advantageous and will enhance communication capabilities within the project context.

The monthly stipend for interns is €2,205.04 (gross).
