Job Overview: The Civil Society National Reference Group (CS-NRG) is a critical component of the Spotlight Initiative 2.0, aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Liberia. The CS-NRG will consist of a maximum of 11 individuals who will serve in a voluntary capacity, providing strategic advice and guidance to the Spotlight Initiative. Members will engage with civil society and women's movements at various levels, advocating for the program's objectives and ensuring accountability for its commitments. Duties and Responsibilities: The CS-NRG will undertake several key responsibilities, including:
Engaging meaningfully with civil society and women's movements to advise the Spotlight Initiative 2.0 and advocate for its objectives.
Enhancing dialogue and providing guidance on policy, legislation, and prevention services related to VAWG.
Offering strategic advice on national policy issues concerning the elimination of VAWG and harmful practices.
Conducting consultations with grassroots groups to gather feedback on the program's performance.
Liaising with global and regional Civil Society Reference Groups to share knowledge and develop solutions to common challenges.
Supporting monitoring efforts and advising on the implementation of the program, including identifying risks and proposing mitigation measures.
Serving as a platform for dialogue between the Spotlight Initiative and women's rights organizations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the non-governmental sector, with a demonstrated background in advancing gender equality and eliminating VAWG. They should have thematic expertise in areas such as gender-based violence, intimate partner violence, child protection, and sexual and reproductive health. Familiarity with women's and youth rights, as well as experience representing diverse communities, is essential. Priority will be given to candidates who have previously engaged with the Spotlight Initiative in Liberia.
