Job Overview: The Coordination and Partnership Specialist will report to the Head of Office and is responsible for providing technical support to strengthen partnerships, resource mobilization, and advance UN Women’s coordination and normative mandates in Liberia. This role involves supporting joint UN processes, providing analysis and guidance on gender issues to the UN Country Team, facilitating coordination with government and civil society, and developing targeted products and donor engagement initiatives to expand resources for the Country Office. The Specialist will also contribute to knowledge generation and outreach that supports the delivery of the Strategic Note and the UNSDCF, ensuring that gender equality priorities are integrated into national planning and policy development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support towards the development of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts, including the implementation of the Resource mobilization strategy and development of donor fundraising strategies.
Support the Country Representative on Programme and Partnership Coordination by identifying entry points for UN Women’s coordination mandate and facilitating knowledge-sharing among staff.
Align national policies and strategies with internationally agreed norms on gender equality and women's empowerment (GEWE).
Provide gender coordination support to national partners, facilitating gender coordination activities between government, development partners, and civil society.
Assist the Country Representative in building relationships with donors, preparing materials for consultations, and identifying opportunities for securing additional resources.
Facilitate knowledge building and sharing within UN Women, contributing to the development of knowledge products and monitoring emerging issues affecting partnerships.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree (or equivalent) in international development, public administration, public policy, or a relevant social science field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is an added advantage. Candidates should have strong knowledge of gender equity and women's empowerment issues, UN system operations, and inter-agency coordination processes.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in international development, public administration, public policy, or a relevant social science field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is desirable.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in inter-agency coordination, strategic programme planning, and resource mobilization is required. Experience working with civil society organizations, international institutions, and donors is essential, along with a background in gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in developing countries within the UN system is desirable, as is familiarity with office software and web-based management systems.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of French is desirable.
