Job Overview: The Coordination and Partnership Specialist will report to the Head of Office and will play a crucial role in strengthening partnerships, resource mobilization, and advancing UN Women’s coordination and normative mandates in Liberia. This position involves providing technical support to enhance joint UN processes, offering analysis and guidance on gender issues to the UN Country Team, and facilitating coordination with government and civil society. The Specialist will also be responsible for developing targeted products and donor engagement initiatives to expand resources for the Country Office, contributing to knowledge generation and outreach that supports the delivery of the Strategic Note and the UNSDCF.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support towards the development of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization efforts, including implementing the Resource mobilization strategy and developing donor fundraising strategies.
Support the Country Representative on Programme and Partnership Coordination by identifying entry points for UN Women’s coordination mandate, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and providing analysis on gender dynamics.
Align national policies with international norms on gender equality and women's empowerment (GEWE) by contributing to the development and monitoring of national GEWE policies.
Facilitate gender coordination support to national partners, providing ongoing technical support to government-led gender coordination mechanisms.
Assist the Country Representative in building relationships with donors, preparing materials for consultations, and identifying opportunities for securing additional resources.
Contribute to knowledge building and sharing by developing learning products and monitoring emerging issues affecting partnerships and resource contributions.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree (or equivalent) in international development, public administration, public policy, or a relevant social science field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is an added advantage. Candidates should have strong knowledge of gender equity and women's empowerment issues, UN system processes, and inter-agency coordination.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in international development, public administration, public policy, or a relevant social science field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is desirable.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in inter-agency coordination, strategic programme planning, and resource mobilization is required. Experience working with civil society organizations, international institutions, and donors is essential, as is experience in gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in developing countries within the UN system is desirable, along with proficiency in office software and web-based management systems.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is desirable.
