Job Overview:
The Grants and Partnership Coordinator is responsible for developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. This role requires a high level of interdepartmental coordination in managing grants and providing strategic support on donor relations, external representation, and compliance. The Coordinator will map donors, monitor funding opportunities, and make recommendations to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director regarding the office's portfolio and business development. The position involves remote work from Chad, with bases in Sudan and most donors located in Nairobi or Port Sudan. The role presents challenges such as managing a high workload and finalizing the partnership system. Initial priorities include diversifying the donor portfolio and building the capacity of the grant manager and RCO.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and monitor partnership and financial strategies for the country office.
  • Ensure interdepartmental coordination in grant management.
  • Provide strategic support on donor relations and external compliance.
  • Map donors and monitor funding opportunities.
  • Make recommendations on the country office’s portfolio and business development.
  • Meet with new donors to present SI’s local and regional strategies.
  • Manage a high workload while addressing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security constraints.
  • Conduct assessments to implement WASH/shelter and NFIs response for IDPs.
  • Coordinate with the INGO forum for effective collaboration in Darfur. 1
  • Provide capacity building for team members and grant management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in international relations or program management.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong experience with BHA, ECHO, UN, and large consortiums.
  • Proven experience in proposal development, reporting, and contractual management.
  • Experience in partnership management and team management.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in international relations or programs management is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of humanitarian aid and partnership management effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a similar duration of experience in a comparable role. This level of experience is crucial for managing the responsibilities associated with grants and partnerships effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage, while knowledge of French is also seen as an asset. These language skills are important for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contract with a duration of one year. The salary starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses for expatriates. The organization implements a break system during assignments, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day per month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions in N'Djamena include access to hot water, air conditioning, and electricity, with a vibrant expatriate community and various leisure facilities.
