This position involves monitoring the status of programme/project proposals and ensuring the receipt of relevant documentation for review and approval. The assistant compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information and data on specific programmes and related topics. Responsibilities also include reviewing project documents for completeness and compliance with relevant rules, verifying budget revisions, and ensuring necessary approvals. The assistant serves as a focal point for administrative coordination of programme/project implementation activities, which requires extensive liaison with various organizational units. The role also involves drafting correspondence on budget-related issues, preparing reports, and providing general office assistance, including responding to complex information requests and organizing meetings and workshops. The assistant is expected to provide guidance and training to new or junior staff and assist in data collection and analysis, as well as maintaining websites and updating information materials.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Management Assistant is responsible for a wide range of duties, including: assisting in the coordination of programme/project planning and preparation; monitoring the status of proposals and documentation; compiling and summarizing information/data; reviewing project documents for compliance; verifying budget revisions and availability of funds; serving as a focal point for administrative coordination; compiling and entering data on project delivery; drafting correspondence and reports; providing general office assistance; responding to information requests; organizing meetings and workshops; providing guidance to new staff; assisting in data analysis and presentations; proofreading documents; providing secretarial support for seminars and conferences; and maintaining websites by posting documents. The assistant may also perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. For positions in the General Service category, it is essential to clearly indicate relevant information confirming completion of high school in the Applicant Profile. Additionally, candidates should have at least five years of experience in programme or project administration, technical cooperation, data management, or a related area. This requirement is reduced to three years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Familiarity with Brazil's institutional settings and the framework for international cooperation is required. Experience in data analytics or related areas, as well as experience with technical cooperation programme management within the United Nations or similar organizations, is desirable.
Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Candidates must clearly indicate their educational qualifications in their Applicant Profile, especially for positions in the General Service category.

Knowledge of a language means a rating of 'confident' or 'fluent' in at least two of the four areas.
