Job Overview:
The Project Officer position is focused on contributing to the national processes aimed at strengthening family farmers in Brazil, with the ultimate goal of reducing poverty and revitalizing rural areas. The role involves implementing differentiated policies and programs that enhance the capacities of the national government, local communities, and family farmers in various critical areas such as rural extension services, credit programs, land access, governance, market access, and cooperativism. The incumbent will be responsible for collecting and qualifying data on repossession processes that affect consolidated communities of family farmers, quilombolas, and traditional peoples, ensuring that the project objectives are met effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Officer include conducting literature reviews and desk research on land tenure, community organization, and conflict mediation practices. The officer will collect, organize, and systematize both quantitative and qualitative data related to land use, family farming, and traditional communities. They will prepare spreadsheets and databases that consolidate information on affected areas, communities, and institutional responses. Additionally, the officer will draft technical reports that analyze patterns, trends, and lessons learned, including case studies and comparative analyses. The development of methodological tools such as data sheets, flowcharts, and manuals to support monitoring and decision-making processes is also a key responsibility. Finally, the officer will produce a final manual that outlines procedures, good practices, and recommendations to strengthen government and partner interventions in land-related conflicts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Human Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field as per the CAPES table of areas of knowledge. They should have a minimum of eight years of experience related to working with courts of justice and experience with policies for racial equality and human rights. A working knowledge of English or Spanish is required, along with fluency in Portuguese. Additionally, candidates must be nationals of Brazil or residents of the country with a valid work permit.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as Human Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, or Statistics. Candidates with further specialization, such as a master's or doctorate, are considered desirable, indicating a preference for advanced academic qualifications that align with the job's focus on social sciences and data analysis.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, particularly in areas related to working with courts of justice and policies for racial equality and human rights. This extensive experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of land tenure and community organization, as well as for effectively addressing the challenges faced by family farmers and traditional communities in Brazil.

Languages:
