Job Posting Organization:

Established to address health and safety concerns in conflict zones, it has grown to employ over 500 individuals across multiple countries, focusing on humanitarian efforts and crisis response. The organization operates in more than 10 countries, providing essential services and support to vulnerable populations.

Job Overview:
The Health, Safety and Security Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of staff and operations in Chernihiv, Ukraine. This role requires a proactive approach to risk assessment and management, as well as the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. The coordinator will work closely with local authorities and international partners to enhance safety measures and provide training to staff on health and safety practices. The position demands a strong understanding of the local context and the ability to adapt strategies to meet the evolving security landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and international best practices.
  • Provide training and support to staff on health, safety, and security protocols.
  • Monitor and report on security incidents and trends, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with local authorities, security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure staff readiness.
  • Manage the health and safety budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Stay updated on local and regional security developments and advise management accordingly.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in health, safety, and security management, preferably in a humanitarian or conflict setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and emergency response planning.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in health and safety, security management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in health and safety management or security training are highly desirable.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in health, safety, and security roles, with a focus on humanitarian or emergency response contexts. Experience working in Ukraine or similar environments is an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and authorities.

Additional Notes:
