Job Overview:
The Education Project Officer will play a crucial role in implementing education activities as part of NRC's humanitarian response in Chernihiv, Ukraine. This position involves working closely with the Education Project Coordinator to ensure that educational projects are executed according to established plans and that they effectively target the most vulnerable beneficiaries. The officer will be responsible for developing and maintaining filing systems, overseeing education needs assessments, and facilitating school rehabilitation processes. The role requires collaboration with local authorities and stakeholders to promote the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees, contributing to program development, and ensuring accurate reporting of activities. The officer will also be involved in training sessions for teachers and school staff, ensuring that educational initiatives are contextually relevant and aligned with NRC's quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Project Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: implementing education activities under the guidance of the Education Project Coordinator; developing and maintaining effective filing systems for project documentation; conducting education needs assessments at targeted schools and youth centers; creating weekly and monthly work plans in alignment with program objectives; facilitating school rehabilitation processes in collaboration with the technical Shelter team; managing the School Assistance Program, including documentation and preparation of necessary materials; conducting training sessions for teachers and school psychologists; collecting and analyzing training data; supporting NRC's implementing partners in their activities; ensuring ongoing monitoring and reporting of education projects; overseeing procurement and distribution of training materials; maintaining positive relationships with educational stakeholders; and performing any other relevant tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Education Project Officer position should possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the fields of education, social services, or psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support. They should have documented technical competencies related to the responsibilities of the position and experience working in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Familiarity with the complexities of volatile environments and the ability to maintain professionalism in tense situations are essential. Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for this position, ideally in fields such as education, social work, psychology, or a related discipline. Candidates should have formal qualifications that demonstrate their expertise and understanding of the educational and psychosocial support systems.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience in education or related fields, particularly in humanitarian settings. Experience in psychosocial support programming, conducting adult training sessions, and working with youth in educational or recreational contexts is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of the education system in Ukraine.

Languages:
Fluency in Ukrainian is mandatory for this position, as well as a working knowledge of English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of the Russian language is considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.
