Job Overview: The Cybercrime and International CooperationProgramme Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the UNODC's Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. This position is designed for a UN Volunteer who will assist in the implementation of the Criminal Justice Regional Programme and the Global Programme on Cybercrime. The associate will be responsible for facilitating international cooperation against organized crime, particularly in the areas of crime prevention and criminal justice. This includes providing technical assistance, mentoring, and training to national agencies in Southeast Asia, focusing on mutual legal assistance and extradition. The role also involves supporting workshops, training sessions, and conferences, as well as contributing to the development and dissemination of UNODC tools and resources. The associate will engage in data collection and analysis, legislative gap analysis, and support research on cybercrime issues, ensuring that the UNODC's initiatives are effectively implemented and aligned with international standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Cybercrime and International Cooperation Programme Associate include:
Facilitating international cooperation against organized crime by supporting the development and delivery of technical assistance, mentoring, and training to national agencies in Southeast Asia.
Participating in workshops, training sessions, and conferences, including preparing agendas, invitation letters, supporting documents, and presentations.
Contributing to the dissemination and promotion of UNODC tools, including handbooks and training curricula.
Assisting in programmatic and administrative tasks, including monitoring expenditures and utilization of funds, and preparing necessary programme or project documents and reports.
Collecting and analyzing data to identify trends or patterns, providing insights through data visualization methods for planning and reporting.
Supporting Southeast Asian countries in the fight against cybercrime, including conducting legislative gap analyses and supporting research on cybercrime issues.
Performing other work-related duties as required to support the objectives of the UNODC.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a strong understanding of operations relevant to the UNODC and the ability to apply good judgment in various situations.
